about

Tommy Thompson Park is an urban wilderness wonderland in the City of Toronto. Born out of city building rubble, the peninsula stretches out 5km to Lake Ontario. The importance of this park can not be overstated, as it is a key resting place for over 400 species of migratory birds. About 2 km in to the park, is a significant bird research station where staff and volunteers band and document bird species during the migration period. The park is also an escape for city dwellers, where the City of Toronto's skyscrapers and traffic are only a few minutes away. It is an oasis for cyclists, walkers, joggers, nature lovers, wildlife photographers and anglers. This is what the narrative of the video revolves around: The Park, through careful stewardship by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), and by its very extent, nature itself, manages to deliver enjoyment to so many users.
