Not involved in any way with the Burning Man Festival, which is on my bucket list, the original sketch was done during those times when you feel like giving up. And every step, either up, down, or every which way, seems like a struggle. And to top it all off, you're on fire : )

This feeling is reflected in the colors I used, not only for the vector-based illustration, but also the painting. The reason I used a spray paint for the background of the painting, is I wanted the brightest and most intense color representation, and I found the bright magenta color did the job perfectly. Yes, it hurts the eyes, but so does being burned.
